Acoustical Pipe and Duct Wrap

Acoustical Pipe and Duct Wrap vibration damping sheets are lightweight and require no special tools to install. The Acoustical Pipe and Duct Wrap may be applied to metal ductwork as well as PVC, galvanized, copper, cast iron, black and CPVC pipe.

Wrapping a pipe in a wall or ceiling can help reduce the sound of running water and flushing toilets and increase your soundproofing performance. Noisy ducts can be wrapped inside or out. Product must be used within one year for best soundproofing and sound isolation performance.

Pipe and Duct Wrap Installation

  • Preparation: Clean surface by washing thoroughly to remove and dirt and dust particles.
  • Installation: Cut Pipe and Duct Wrap to fit the size needed. Peel off protective backing and apply. Make sure to place wrap accurately. When wrapping long spans of pipe, allow for a 1/2" overlap on butt joists. Once applied it will not come back up.

Soundproofing Note: Try leaving a small gap around the pipe when running through top and bottom plates of a wall. Contact at these locations will conduct vibration into wall framing. You can additionally use Putty Pads or SilenSeal Acoustical Sealant to act as a gasket.
