SilenSeal Acoustical Sealant

When building sound isolated partitions, you need to seal openings as well as the perimeter of the room. A quality sealant that will remain flexible for decades is required.

SilenSeal Acoustical Sealant is a non-flammable, water based sealant specifically designed for the reduction of sound transmission and drafts in all types of wall, floor and ceiling systems. SilenSeal remains flexible and adheres firmly to wood, metal studs, concrete, gypsum board and most other building materials. SilenSeal easily cleans up with soap and water.

SilenSeal Installation:

Installation of SilenSeal Acoustical Sealant is optimal when temperatures are above 55 ºF (13 ºC). Provide adequate ventilation to carry off excess moisture. Surface to be sealed must be clean, dry, and free of dust. Application:

Use a standard contractor size caulking gun. Apply 1/4" minimum round bead of sealant (1/2" maximum) to seal perimeter of partition. Seal partitions on both sides at all wall to wall, wall to ceiling and wall to floor intersections.

Apply continuous beads of sealant around all openings formed for outlets, lights, etc.
